THE COACH -
About the Founder of The Coach, Counseling for Men
The vision for The Coach, Counseling for Men began forming in 2001, planted by God in the heart of its founder, Aimee Dorsett. At just 17 years old, Aimee began working as a cosmetologist in a fast passed hair salon that primarily served men. While sitting in the barber chair, many men opened up—sharing their struggles, fears, regrets, and hopes. That experience sparked a calling to serve men beyond the barber chair.
In 2002, Aimee received a Christian prophecy that God would place healing in her hands—using her life to bring restoration to others. That word stayed with her and continued to guide her calling.
Years later, that calling became reality. Aimee earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Montana in 2023, and opened The Coach, Counseling for Men to help men and their families find healing, clarity, and strength—emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
The Coach offers counseling in a relaxed, welcoming environment—a blend of a barbershop and a men’s cave. The space is intentionally created to feel safe, comfortable, and pressure-free.
Sessions are guided primarily by Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, helping people move toward practical change and healing more efficiently than traditional long-term therapy models, while still honoring depth, faith, and personal growth.
When you walk into the therapy room, you choose where you feel most at ease: the barber chair, recliner, antique wood chair, high stool, or even the floor. Life offers choices—and so does healing.
The session begins with one simple but powerful question: “What are your best hopes for our time together?” From there, the conversation centers on your goals, your needs, and your faith.
As your words are reflected back to you, clarity grows. Hope becomes tangible. Healing begins to take shape.
By the end of the session, you’ll leave feeling grounded, encouraged, and better equipped to step into the positive change God is working in your life.
